My name is David Sikich, President of ISA Releasing,
the Chicago-based distributor which released the independent
movie, “Lana’s Rain” to theatres earlier
this year. There is a pretty good chance that most of
you didn’t get a chance to see the movie since
it opened only in a limited number of cities, but the
good news is that’s about to change.
I’m very happy to report that “Lana’s
Rain” will be available to take home with you
starting January 18, 2005, just after the New Year.
Image Entertainment will be releasing the movie on
this date in both the DVD and VHS format and hopefully
it will be at a retail store near you. (We will have
a list of outlets carrying the title in mid-November.)
It will be available to rent or to buy at a price
of $19.99 but the important thing is we are thrilled
that everyone who will want to see it will be finally
be able to do so.
I welcome each of you to our new and improved website.
We appreciate all the support and kind words from
those of you who have been able to see “Lana’s
Rain” and welcome those of you who are visiting
the website for the first time and want to learn more
about the film. We’re proud of “Lana’s
Rain” and what director Michael Ojeda and producer
Joel Goodman were able to accomplish with a $215,000
budget. At a time when the average Hollywood studio
movie costs $59,000,000, Lana’s Rain delivers
the goods and packs a punch. Check it out and judge
for yourself.
“Lana’s Rain” straddles a lot of
genres... .it’s part crime drama.. .part gritty
immigrant saga.. .part female revenge thriller.. .part
film noir. If you’ve liked movies like “La
Femme Nikita,” “Run, Lola, Run,”
“The Point of No Return” and “Kill
Bill,” all movies starring women caught in the
world of violent men and being forced to act against
them, well, I think you will like “Lana’s
Rain” too.
In the coming weeks we will have more information
on how best to secure a copy of “Lana’s
Rain.” If you wish to order a copy on line,
or place a pre-order, we will have the proper link-ups
and information for you to do so. The DVD version
will also include a lot of cool extras for your enjoyment.
If you have any questions or comments, you can reach
me personally at dsikich@iltischicago.com.
If you wish to contact director Michael Ojeda, you
can reach him at arain555@aol.com.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
David Sikich
